There are three levels of certification:

ITIL Foundation Certification

The Foundation Certificate enables people to understand the terminology used within ITIL. It focuses upon foundation knowledge with regard to the ITIL Service Support and Service Delivery sets as well as covering generic ITIL philosophy and its background.

ITIL Intermediate Certification

This is a qualification on the specific disciplines within the ITIL Service Support or Service Delivery set, including customer and IT organization communication.

ITIL Expert Certification

This is aimed at experienced professionals, who will be involved in the management of service management functions.

Certificates

You will earn ITIL® Intermediate - Service Lifecycle and Service Capability Modules Certification post clearing the ITIL® Intermediate - Service Lifecycle and Service Capability Examination. Under the ITIL Credit System, you must earn a number of credits from each ITIL certification to progress to the next level within the ITIL scheme. End learners who achieve 17 credits from the current ITIL v3 credit system will be able to take the ITIL Managing Professional (ITIL MP) transition module in order to move to the new scheme without needing to take the MALC exam. You can take up to two free exam retakes in case you are unable to pass the examination.
